Ever since the dawn of time, man has had a dire need to exert his frustrations onto others. Be it through verbal or physical means, it is a way for him (or her) to maintain dominance. For this purpose, the "Beat-Em-Up"/"Brawler" video game was created. Some of the pioneers of the genre are Data East's "Karate Champ", Irem's "Kung-Fu", Technos' "Nekketsu Kōha Kunio-kun", Capcom's "Final Fight", and Technos' "Double Dragon".
Unfortuately during the 90's, the market saw a huge oversaturation of Beat-Em-Ups, most not particularly well made, and interest slowly wained. Much like fighting games
